Hook Magnaflux Inspection & Testing

We provide the NDT Nondestructive Testing portion of your lifting device inspection on site or at our facility. Lifting devices are visually inspected for excessive wear, deformation, out of plane bending, excessive gouges and missing capacity markings. Then they are inspected with Magnaflux Magnetic Particle or Liquid Penetrant. After the inspection you get an NDT certification form for your lifting device good till your following inspection.

Throat and saddle measurements of crane hook are taken to keep records of stretch or growth from year to year.

Lifting Devices Codes and Standards

Crane Hook Inspection: Inspection of Crane Hooks, per OSHA 1910.179 standard and ASME B30.10 standard.

Overhead Hoisting System : Per OSHA 1910.179 standard, ASME B30.2, B30.11 and B30.16 standards.

Rigging Hardware Inspection: Inspection of Eye Bolts, Swivel Hoist Rings, Shackles and Star Point Lifter, per OSHA General Duty Clause and ASME B18.15 standard.

Sling Inspection: Inspection of Alloy Steel Chain Slings, Wire Rope Slings, Nylon/Polyester Slings and Metal Mesh Slings for overhead lifting, per OSHA 1910.184 standard, ASME B30.9 standard and MIOSHA 408.14901-14965 standard.

Specialty Lifting Device Inspection: Inspection of Specialty Lifters, End Effectors, C-Hooks, Sheet Lifters, Coil Lifters, Car Carriers and Assembly Line Lifters, per OSHA General Duty Clause and ASME B30.20 standard.

Visual Personal Fall Arrest System Inspection: Inspection of Full Body Harnesses, Shock Absorbing Web Lanyards, Temporary Anchorage Connectors Straps and Self-Retracting Web Lanyards, per OSHA 1926.502 standard, ANSI Z359.1 and A10.14 standard and MIOSHA Part 45 standard.

All components and hardware of Fall Arrest Systems are visually inspected for wear, cuts, nicks, burns and tears.
